Carl Pistorius, the brother of double-amputee athlete Oscar, has objected to plans by an American television channel to air a film about how the athlete murdered his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, AP reported on Wednesday.
Lifetime channel said the film “Oscar Pistorius: Blade Runner Killer,” which premieres on November 11, tells the story from the viewpoint of Steenkamp and her mother, detailing what they claim happened in 2013 when Pistorius shot his model girlfriend dead.
But the Pistorius family is not happy about how Oscar will be portrayed, saying that the film is a “gross misrepresentation of the truth” and only reflects the arguments of the prosecution, with brother Carl saying the family will take legal action.
On 3 November, South Africa’s Appeal Court will convene to hear prosecutors’ arguments that the six-year prison sentence handed down to Pistorius for murder was insufficient and should be increased.
