The Presidency said it had received a response from National Police Commissioner, General Rhia Phiyega, following recommendations by the Marikana Commission of Inquiry.
In a brief statement on Saturday the Presidency said that President Zuma will study Phiyega's response to determine "whether any intervention is warranted" and if so, what that would be.
Phiyega had until Friday to respond to President Zuma on the recommendation by Judge Ian Farlam that an inquiry be held into her fitness to hold office.
The commission of inquiry’s 646-page report ordered the probe into Phiyega but cleared Cabinet ministers of any responsibility.
