A pawnshop owner from Cape Town is expected to appear in court on Wednesday following his arrest for possession of stolen goods.
A police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk says members of the Flying Squad in Maitland followed up on information about a stolen watch at a pawn shop in Cape Town.
He says members positively identified the watch and conducted a further search of the property where they confiscated another 51 expensive watches, believed to be stolen.
Captain van Wyk says they also discovered over 500 gemstones and what appears to be uncut diamonds.
The 45-year-old shop owner was arrested and will be charged with possession of stolen goods.
