Parliament to debate SONA 2019

President Cyril Ramaphosa's first State of the Nation Address in the sixth Parliament will come under scrutiny this week, as MP's debate its content at a sitting of the two Houses of Parliament.

A nine-hour sitting has been set aside for the crucial debate on Tuesday, which will start from 10 am until around 8 pm.

Parliament says in a statement the debate provides an opportunity for public representatives to explore the commitments, including the priorities, which Ramaphosa outlined in his address on Thursday evening.

It says the President will reply to the debate on Wednesday - also during a joint sitting of both Houses of Parliament - starting at 2 pm.
