A female paramedic from Limpopo has been shot and killed by her husband in yet another murder-suicide.
Spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo says the 44-year-old Mokhapi Phalandwa was killed on Sunday morning.
He says she had a protection order against her husband, who was also a paramedic.
It is alleged that when Phalandwa obtained the protection order, her 55-year-old husband, Norman, moved into a rented room in the area.
Brigadier Mojapelo says it is alleged that the wife went to visit him at about 6 am when he allegedly took out a firearm and shot her, before turning the gun on himself.
Police were called out to the scene in the Bochum location where they found both bodies in the street.
A case of murder and an inquest is under investigation.
This follows just one day after a double murder and suicide in Bela-Bela.
Brigadier Mojapelo says it is alleged that the 38-year-old Hendrick Muzi went to the house of his former girlfriend, 34-year-old Carmen Cloete and apparently, without saying anything, killed Cloete and her 11-year-old daughter Lee, before turning the gun on himself.
It is alleged that Muzi stole the firearm used in the murder.
