Customs officers of the South African Revenue Service (SARS) have seized 23kg of narcotics disguised as moulded artwork with an estimated street value of R37 million at the cargo sheds of the OR Tambo International Airport.

A Plettenberg Bay man was on Saturday recovering in hospital after he was bitten by a Ragged Tooth shark that he had caught while fishing at Papiesfontein, north-east of Jeffreys Bay. NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon said the 62-year-old man landed the shark at around midday on Friday and, while attempting to free it and released from the fishing gear, the shark bit the man.
