A 35-year-old man accused of distributing fake pornographic images by using the faces of the President and the Minister of Police made his first appearance in the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

An alleged drug mule who was arrested at the OR Tambo International Airport (ORTIA) over the weekend has made his first court appearance. The 29-year-old was identified as Latvian National, Raitis Dreijers who entered the country on a flight from Brazil.

A man from De Aar who broke into a primary school last year has been sentenced to a decade behind. Alwin Erasmus broke into the Alpha Primary School in December last year and stole food and sporting items to the value of R20 000.

Professional nurses, Noxolo Ntshintshi, Lukhangele Nombewu, EMS intermediate life support officer Moleboheng Ngoase and basic life support officer Lwandile Rawana were alerted to the schoolgirl giving birth at a nearby school and rushed to help her successfully deliver, on Wednesday, 17 May 2023.

Three people have died while five others sustained injuries in two separate crashes in the Eastern Cape. Provincial Transport department spokesperson Unathi Binqose said in the first accident, two vehicles – an Audi and a truck –  collided head-on on the N2 road near Peddie towards Qonce, formerly King William's Town.
