A Free State police officer was shot and killed after reporting that he was following a hijacked truck on a gravel road between Villiers and Standerton. Spokesperson, Sergeant Josephine Rani, says 47-year-old Detective Warrant Officer, Neels du Randt, was found shot to death in his bakkie after requesting backup from Villiers police.
