The latest operation by the South African Police called "Moonlight" has resulted in the arrest of five men in Gauteng in connection with child pornography.
A pensioner and owner of a daycare centre, a married father of three, two adult men who live with their parents and a convicted rapist were arrested between the 10th and 14th of February.
The men aged between 30 and 62 had explicit images and videos of child abuse on several computers, hard drives, flash drives, tablets and cellphones which were seized during the operation.
A 30-year-old man, living with his parents had already appeared in the Pretoria Magistrates' Court where he was granted bail. He will be back in court on the 12th of March.
The 42-year-old father of three also appeared in the same court where his case was postponed to the 28th of February.
Police Spokesperson Colonel Brenda Muridili says the 62-year-old pensioner, who owns a daycare centre was arrested in Johannesburg and his case was postponed to the Monday.
She says the daycare centre is managed by his wife.
The fourth person arrested was a 42-year-old man who lives with his parents in Pretoria.
He too appeared in court where his case was postponed to the 8th of April.
The fifth person to be arrested during operation "Moonlight " was a 34-year-old convicted rapist who received a suspended sentence of five years, which would only end on the 15th of March.
He will appear in the Kempton Park Magistrates Court on Monday.
