Hours before Oscar Pistorius shot and killed Reeva Steenkamp, he had a nine minute phone conversation with his ex-girlfriend, Jenna Edkins.
According to an Eyewitness News report, police did not uncover the conversation which occurred just hours before Pistorius shot Steenkamp at his Pretoria East
home on Valentines Day last year.
Edkins has reportedly declined to answer questions, stating only that it was common knowledge that she and Pistorius had remained friends.
The prosecution has also declined to comment.
Prior to the broadcast of the Eye Witness News report, a press statement was issued by the Pistorius family and his legal team last night in which it was stated that as far as they were aware, all relevant communications had been put before the court.
Last month Pistorius, was acquitted on the charge of murdering his girlfriend Steenkamp who he claimed he mistook for an intruder.
Pistorius was instead found guilty of culpable homicide. Sentencing proceedings will start on the 13th of October.
