Oscar's appeal could be televised

Indications are that the State's appeal against Oscar Pistorius's conviction for culpable homicide, will be broadcast live on television.

Unlike a trial, Pistorius does not have to be in court himself, and the legal teams of the State and the Defence will present their respective cases.

The State wants Pistorius to be convicted of murder for the death of Reeva Steenkamp on February 14, 2013.

The Department of Justice issued a notice to the media on the appeal matter on Tuesday morning, which begins on the 3rd of November in the Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein.

The's notice from the Justice Department mainly deals with the accreditation of journalists, seating arrangements and protocol, but mention is made about a meeting on Wednesday on specifically a live video feed from the court.

Pistorius was released from prison Monday night under correctional supervision.

Speaking from his uncle's upmarket Waterkloof home, family spokesperson Annelise Burgess stressed that Oscar had not been released, but was merely starting the next phase of his 5 year sentence for killing Reeva.
