State prosecutor, Gerrie Nel has lodged an application in the High Court in Pretoria that Oscar Pistorius be referred for mental observation.
This followed the conclusion of his cross examination of defence witness, forensic-psychiatrist, Dr. Merryll Vorster.
She was called by the defence, and testified that she diagnosed the paralympian with a general anxiety disorder.
Vorster was then briefly re-examined by defence lawyer Barry Roux, before Nel submitted the application.
Defence Advocate Barry Roux opposed the application.
Court adjourned for the day a few moments ago, and Judge Masipa said she would make her ruling at 9-30 on Wednesday morning.
