Western Cape police have opened an inquest docket, after a man died in a boating accident in Hout Bay on Saturday afternoon.
The National Sea Rescue Institute says a charter boat, The Maroshka capsized near Duiker Island at around 3pm.
NSRI spokesperson, Brad Geyser says the search for a missing man was suspended on Saturday eveningt, and will resume on Sunday morning.
He says 34 people were rescued and one of the men was declared dead on arrival at the NSRI sea rescue station in Hout Bay.
Geyser says it is not known what caused the boat to capsize.
He says 24 people were hospitalised for further medical treatment.
The man who died is believed to be from the United Kingdom.
