One person died and six others were injured when a truck crashed into a house in Reservoir Hills in Durban late Thursday afternoon.
Rescue Care Emergency Rescue said that three occupants of the truck were trapped in the wreckage.
"Unfortunately the driver had sustained fatal injuries and there was nothing more the paramedics could do for him, and he was declared deceased at the scene," said spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson.
He said the jaws of life had to be used to remove the two passengers from the wreckage before they were taken to nearby hospitals for further medical attention.
Four occupants on the back of the truck were also injured. They were treated on the scene before being taken hospital.
No one in the house was injured in the accident, Jamieson said.
