Police in Welkom in the Free State have launched a manhunt for suspected hitmen who killed a man who was drawing money at an ATM in town.
Police spokesperson Captain Stephen Thakeng says the victim was standing in line to withdraw cash shortly before lunchtime on Saturday when he was shot several times.
He says even when the victim fell to the floor the suspects continued shooting.
Captain Thakeng says a bank employee sustained a gunshot wound in her leg while a client was shot in the knee.
A 13-year-old girl was also hit and wounded by a stray bullet.
He says according to eye witnesses, two men rushed towards a Toyota Yaris with Lesotho number plates before fleeing the scene.
