A Man from North West who was arrested in connection with the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition will remain in custody for now.
The 52-year-old Greg Kemp was arrested at his rented house last week and made a brief appearance in the Brits Magistrates Court
Police Spokesperson Colonel Adele Myburgh said Kemp had close to24 000 ammunition of various calibres in his possession as well as five firearms of which three were unlicensed.
Police also seized four self-made firearms at Kemp’s house inMamogaleskraal.
Myburgh said further investigation led them to a flat which was owned by the suspect, in Silverton, Pretoria where more goods were seized.
She said at the flat they found a manufacturing machine(re-loader) bullet heads, 400 rounds of ammunition, 1 000 empty cartridges and powder.
Kemps is expected to make another court appearance soon.
