The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa has reached an agreement with Ford SA to end a two-week long strike.
Workers downed tools last week, demanding a share of the profits made by the company.
Last week, the US automotive maker was granted a court interdict to force the 3000 workers to return to work.
Numsa spokesperson Phakamile Hlubi-Majola says they have managed to secure a R20,000 payment for each worker.
"After days of marathon behind-the-scenes negotiations with Ford management to address the legitimate grievances of workers, Numsa was able to secure an agreement that all workers would be able to return to work and there would be no disciplinary sanction for those who participated in the strike", she said.
Hlubi-Majola says they also negotiated that Ford pays workers R20,000 for each worker as a deadlock-breaking mechanism and to pay these monies as soon as possible.
The trade union has called on its workers to return to work on Friday.
