Numsa leadership believes its efforts to try and rejoin Cosatu have come to an end and that its done all it can to return to the trade union federation.
This is according to the union's Karl Cloete, who briefed the media on Thursday following a recent National Executive Committee meeting.
He says its time to start looking at building a new federation.
"At the end of October we would convene the national worker summit to talk about the future of a new federation in the country, and the fact that you have 30% of workers employed in the economy outside of unions. What do we do to bring the 70% of unorganised workers into a new federation? he said
