The National Taxi Alliance (NTA) says it has decided to pull out of the upcoming National Taxi Lekgotla which is set to start on 29 October, as the country concludes Transport Month.
Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula launched the campaign earlier this year to bring stakeholders together to tackle issues that are faced by the taxi industry.
However, the NTA's Theo Malele says their association cannot take part in the Lekgotla if they're not given the same speaking rights as the South African National Taxi Council (Santaco).
He threatened a national strike if Mbalula did not resolve the matter in the next ten days.
