The National Prosecuting Authority has confirmed a break-in at the offices of the Director of Public Prosecutions in Pretoria.
NPA spokesperson, Luvuyo Mfaku, said the burglary occurred on Sunday night.
"They broke into two offices that are directly opposite each. They stole two laptops. There is nothing further that had been taken other than the laptops," he said.
Mfaku said the National Prosecuting Authority wanted to assure the public that "the integrity of our cases has not been affected".
"There is no docket that has been stolen. It is just the laptops," Mkafu said.
The break-in at the NPA offices comes on the heels of the recent burglary at the offices of the Hawks in Silverton, Johannesburg, where computers were also stolen.
The Hawks said at the time that the burglary was concentrated in the support environment where HR, Finance and the Supply Chain sections were located.
Last Wednesday two men also appeared in court for allegedly breaking into the Office of the Chief Justice in March.
