The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the Northern Cape, Major General Phiwe Mnguni has strongly condemned the murder of a 4-year-old boy.
It is reported that the boy was found in a box covered with a blanket in Warrenton on Friday.
It is alleged that the boy left his home to go to a local tuckshop but did not return home.
He was reported missing by the family at the local police station, and an intensive search was launched.
Police followed up on information and the body of the deceased was found at a 36-year old suspect's house in Ikhutseng.
The suspect, who is not related to the deceased, was arrested at the scene is expected to appear in the Warrenton Magistrate's court on Monday.
The police investigation continues.
