Public Protector Thuli Madonsela will release her final report on Nkandla on Wednesday amid criticism of her work.
The report was due to be released early in February, a few days before President Jacob Zuma's state-of-the-nation address, but Madonsela extended the deadline at thee request of one of the parties.
Affected parties were initially given deadlines of late January to respond to Madonsela's preliminary report on the more than 200-million rand spent on security upgrades at president Zuma's private Nkandla homestead in KwaZulu-Natal.
Madonsela has been criticised by the ANC for her handling of the probe.
With only a few weeks to go until the general election, ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe said the release of the report close to the May election indicated an intention to muddy the waters during the election campaign.
