A new political party, the Workers and Socialist Party (Wasp), has made its entrance on South Africa's political scene.
Party spokesman Mamatlwe Sebei was happy with the turn-out of 600 delegates from across the country at Thursday's party-launch in Pretoria.
Sebei said people in the transport and mining industries, as well as university students, had came to support the party.
He said the party's main concerns were around the sentiments of labour movements and service delivery.
Free education and helping mine workers who had lost their jobs would be among the party's priorities.
