Liquidated Nationwide Airlines is claiming R155m in damages from South African Airways for allegedly abusing its dominant position.
Nationwide claims that the national carrier had used its dominant position by getting travel agents not to sell domestic tickets for SAA's competitors.
This is the second complaint against SAA by Nationwide and comes on the back of SAA being found guilty and fined by the Competition Tribunal for anti-competitive conduct.
Business Day reports that the airlines had reached an out of court settlement in the first case, while in the current case, Nationwide claims it had suffered R118.4m in damages.
The airline was placed under final liquidation in 2008.
