Multichoice has announced that it will not be renewing its contract with Gupta-linked news channel ANN7 when it expires later this year.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Multichoice admits that mistakes were made in the handling of ANN7 but that there was no corruption.
It acknowledges that it should have looked into issues around ANN7 before public concern was raised.
Multichoice added that procedures are to be tightened and that controversial issues will be passed onto the Board faster.
It further stated that it would not be renewing ANN7's contract when it ends in August and that the contract for a new, black-owned news channel for its DStv bouquet is being put out to tender.
