Mpumalanga police are investigating cases of murder, armed robbery, and attempted murder, after a farmer was shot dead near Sabie on Thursday.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Leonard Hlathi says four armed men accosted 63-year old Paul Mason, and his 58-year old wife, Gwyneth when they returned to their home on the farm Kruisfontein.
He says the wife was tied up in the house, and they took her husband outside.
Shortly afterwards she heard three gunshots.
Hlati says the police and a private security company found Mason dead at the scene.
His gardener was tied up and thrown into a pit toilet, but was unharmed.
The robbers took two laptops, bank cards, four cellphones, jewellery, cash, and several guns.
