Serial escapee Bongani Moyo has been jailed for a total 17 years for two escapes from lawful custody.
However, he has yet to be convicted of any of the other charges against him which include bank robbery, armed robbery, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, and resisting arrest.
In handing down a three year sentence on Tuesday, Pretoria magistrate Len Miller said escaping from custody was a serious offence for which a jail term was an appropriate sentence.
He also refused to order that this sentence run concurrently with a 14-year jail term imposed earlier by the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court for escaping from the Johannesburg police station.
