Four of the five lions that escaped from the Kruger National Park have been spotted.
SANParks says its preparing to recapture them near the Swaziland border.
They were reported to have escaped from the Kruger on Monday and SANParks says investigations are underway to determine how the lions managed to leave the park.
Following several sightings, it is believed that they managed to find their way back to the area from where they escaped but then managed to disappear in the sugar cane farms about 4km away form the park.
It is believed the lions might have split up due to people wanting to take pictures.
They urged local residents to refrain from taking photographs as these lions were still dangerous predators who are believed to have already killed a cow.
It says a helicopter with a vet have been dispatched to the area to try and dart the lions and return them safely to the park.
The SANPARK Rangers are also being assisted by the South African Police.
