Free State police have arrested a male nurse after the body of a missing child was found in a pit-toilet outside his house.
Spokesperson Brigadier MS Makhele says the four-year-old Naledi Chaka was reported missing on Sunday in Selosesha in Thaba'nchu.
During the police investigation, one of the children who was playing with Chaka told detectives that she was last seen with a man.
She says on Wednesday police found some of Chaka's clothing which eventually led them to the suspect's house.
Fire and rescue were summoned to the scene to help retrieve the body.
The 36-year-old nurse who works at the Botshabelo Hospital will appear in court soon on a charge of kidnapping and murder.
Police will also conduct a post mortem to determine the exact cause of death and to see whether or not the victim was raped.
