A Mexican national was arrested at a property in Rietfontein in Gauteng on Wednesday where police found a drug lab they say is valued at around R100 million.
Lieutenant Colonel Amanda van Wyk said a multi-disciplinary team obtained a search and seizure warrant following “extensive surveillance conducted on the premises”.
She said the team seized various chemicals, drug manufacturing equipment, and product which was confirmed to be Methamphetamine commonly known as Crystal Meth or Tik.
“The team also seized cash, believed to be the proceeds of crime,” she added.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Atteridgeville Magistrates Court on charges of dealing in and manufacturing drugs as well as contravening the Immigration Act.
