Men who defaced Zuma painting in court

The two men accused of defacing a controversial painting of President Jacob Zuma in a Johannesburg gallery will appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

The two men defaced the portrait with red and black paint, obscuring the face and waist of the figure.

The entire incident was captured on film by eNews 3rd degree television cameras.

The men were released from the Rosebank police station late last night on bail of one-thousand rand each.

A third person, who was arrested for allegedly trying to spray paint the word "respect" on a wall of the Goodman Gallery, will appear with them.

He was also released on bail of one-thousand rand.

All three face charges of malicious damage to property.
