A memorial service will be held in Fort Beaufort next week for slain council Speaker, Thozama Njobe.
The service will take place at the Cape College of Education in the town on Tuesday.
The Raymond Mhlaba Local Municipality councillor was shot last Tuesday by an unknown gunmen in Fort Beaufort.
Police said she was hit several times in the upper body and died before while on the way to hospital.
The motive for Njobe's murder is still not known, however the ANC said that threats had made against her when she was at the governing party's policy conference.
No arrests have yet been made.
Njobe will be laid to rest next Saturday in Fort Beaufort.
