The acting head of the Hawks, Major-General Mthandazo Ntlemeza has set up a task team to investigate the murder of Warrant Officer Petrus Holz, a Hawks member in the Western Cape.
He said 50-year-old Holz, was on his way to work on Wednesday when his car apparently hit man-made debris on Cape Town's N-2 highway.
Ntlezema says when he stopped to inspect the vehicle he was then attacked by two suspects and stabbed with a blunt object.
He says personal items were stolen.

"Circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation and we have opened up a murder investigation. The suspects are still at large" he said.
