McCusker fiancé case postponed

The assault case against the fiancé of Kim McCusker, who was hit and dragged by a minibus taxi in Johannesburg, was postponed in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

Lourens Grobler will appear in court again on January 20.

Matome Thamage, the driver of the taxi that hit McCusker in Fourways on September 13, laid an assault charge against Grobler.

Thamage claims he struck McCusker after fleeing an assault by Grobler, after almost colliding with his bakkie.

Grobler, 37, was granted bail of R5000 by the court on September 19.

In a separate case Thamage, who is out on R5000 bail, faces charges of attempted murder and reckless or negligent driving.

McCusker was dragged about 700m along Lonehill Boulevard under his taxi. (Sapa)
