Free State police have launched a manhunt after the body of the 66-year-old Iris Potgieter's lifeless body was found in an open veld in Dewetsdorp this week.
Spokesperson, Brigadier Motantsi Makhele, says witnesses saw a Red VW Golf driving towards the veld and the occupants off-loaded something before speeding off.
He says police were called and upon investigation, discovered the body of the woman on Wednesday.
The car seen by witnesses belongs to the victim.
Brigadier Makhele says two suspects in the Golf Chicco with registration number CNF 842 MP was spotted on CCTV camera at a filling station getting petrol.
He says according to the deceased's neighbours she left home to help someone transport a television set.
Police have not yet released the name of the victim, although a family member identified her as Iris Potgieter.
