A man who pretended to be a tattoo artist to lure victims to his house was found guilty of four counts of rape.

Twenty-one-year-old Mehodi Roberth Baloyi from Polokwane was convicted in the Polokwane High Court on Thursday.

A spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority Mashudu Malabi-Dzangi says Baloyi had a Facebook account known as Caption CJ where he offered tattoo services.

She says he lured four women to his house between July of 2019 and October 2020 with his youngest victim only 15-years-old.

Malabi-Dzangi says when his victims arrived at his house he would pretend to initiate the crafting of a tattoo before threatening them with a panga.

She says he forcefully undressed his victims, raped them and took photographs and videos of them naked.

Baloyi would then threaten to upload the photos to social media if they reported it to the police.

According to the State he also threatened to invite Zimbabwean men to his house to join him in raping them before threatening to kill and bury them.

The NPA's Malabi-Dzangi says he would then drop off his victims at a nearby tuckshop.

Baloyi said the sex was consensual.

He will be back in court on Monday for pre-sentencing procedures to get underway.
