A man has been killed during a lightning storm in Sasolburg in the Free State.
ER24 said the incident happened late Monday afternoon.
Spokesperson, Werner Vermaak, said some workers had taken shelter in the room on the premises when one of them was struck by lightning.
He said his colleagues pulled him into the room and called emergency services but he was declared dead on the scene.
Vermaak said it was a generally good rule of thumb for one to immediately make one's way to safety when thunder and lightning occurs.
