A man was killed and his wife robbed during a house robbery in Cullinan, east of Pretoria on Friday morning.
Gauteng police spokesperson, Johannes Jaftha says according to a witness, the couple heard noises at their Welgedacht home in the early hours and went to investigate.
He says they were confronted by four robbers, and the man was shot several times in the upper body.
They then tied up his wife and demanded money.
Jaftha says the robbers were disturbed by a phone call from a neighbour who heard the gunshots.
The suspects fled on foot with the wife's purse, cellphone, and jewellery.
