A Cape Town man has been taken into custody for allegedly killing his wife, niece and two children in Khayelitsha.
Police spokesperson, lieutenant-colonel, Andrè Traut, said residents handed the 25 year old man over to police, following the discovery of the murders in the early hours of Thursday morning.
He says the bodies of the man's 29 year old wife, her 18 year old niece, and two children aged three and four, were found in the house.
Traut says the man was admitted to hospital after trying to commit suicide by drinking battery acid.
