A man died when his car left the road and and rolled on the N2 near the Garden Route Mall near George in the Western Cape late on Sunday afternoon, paramedics said.
"It seems as if the man lost control of the vehicle which then rolled for several metres onto a nearby field," ER24 spokesman Pieter Rossouw said.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene they found the car on its roof, with the man trapped inside."With the help of the jaws-of-life, rescue teams made space so that paramedics could reach the man.
Unfortunately the man had already succumbed to severe head injuries and was declared dead on [the] scene."
The man was believed to be in his mid to late 30s. The cause of the accident was unknown and local authorities were on the scene to investigate, Rossouw said.– African News Agency (ANA)
