Police in Johannesburg arrested a 41-year-old man after several Zimbabwean passports were found in his possession.
A spokesperson for the Metro Police Wayne Minnaar says the man had 15 passports, including one in the name of a four-year-old South African girl, which had been stamped several times.
The suspect allegedly fraudulently stamps these passports at the border, to extend the stay of holders of documents in South Africa.
Minnaar says the suspect was stopped at a roadside checkpoint in Midrand where he then tried to bribe police officers.
He offered them an amount of R2 000, which was declined.
He will be charged with bribery and contravening the Immigration Act.
