Free State police say a man has been arrested, following attacks on two couples at a guest house in Harrismith.
Spokesperson, Sergeant Mmako Mophiring says a Malawian national was arrested on Sunday evening.
The suspect was the caretaker at the guesthouse.
One couple was killed and another was seriously injured during the attack.
Police found a couple aged 62 and 46 shot and killed in a bedroom at Tweevlei Guest Farm on Sunday morning.
Another couple was also allegedly attacked with a garden fork.
The wife managed to flee the scene with her children, who were unharmed, in the couple's car. The husband was later taken to a nearby hospital.
The motive for the attack is still unknown.
