Malema fraud case struck off the roll

The fraud and corruption case against EFF leader Julius Malema and his two co-accused has been struck off the roll in the High Court in Polokwane.

Judge George Mothle said since the State did not want to separate the trials, which was one option, and he would no longer postpone the proceedings, the case was struck off the roll. The judge also ordered that bail be refunded.

Outside court Malema thanked his followers for their support.

Malema says he asked the court to separate the trial, but the State opted against this option.

Malema and his co-accused, On-Point Engineering directors Lesiba Gwangwa and Kagisho Dichabe faced more than 50 charges of racketeering and fraud.
