A 38-year-old man from Amanzimtoti in Kwazulu Natal is in police custody after police discovered a magic mushroom laboratory at his premises.
Spokesperson Captain Simphiwe Mhlongo says the man is expected to appear in the local Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
Police received information about a man dealing in magic mushrooms and swooped on his property.
Captain Mhlongo says police discovered a complex clandestine magic mushrooms laboratory containing numerous species in different forms and stages of growth.
The estimated street value of the drugs is at least R448 000.
Police also seized cash suspected to be proceeds of crime.
