Local government sector wage negotiations have been concluded.
An agreement is now in place between the Independent Municipal and Allied Trade Union, the South African Municipal Workers Union and the South African Local Government Association.
IMATU general-secretary, Johan Koen said the amicable multi-year wage agreement had been reached without the need to resort to either dispute processes or industrial action.
He said it was a good example of what can be achieved when parties are committed to achieving a swift and amicable outcome.
The new wage agreement will be signed in Pretoria on Friday.
