The Limpopo High Court sitting in Thohoyandou on Monday sentenced 26-year-old Fhulufhedzani Memadzadza to 33 years in jail for killing his girlfriend earlier this year, police said.
Spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said the murder happened near Vuwani outside of Thohoyandou.
”The accused killed his girlfriend Likhuda Liladza Ndou, aged 18, on the evening of 22 February this year. He assaulted the girlfriend to death with an iron rod during a domestic dispute,” said Ngoepe.
”We hope that this sentence will deter all criminals out there and make them realise that crime does not pay.”
