A 48-year-old man from Bloemfontein spent the night behind bars following his arrest on Wednesday in connection with the alleged racial attack at a holiday resort in Maselspoort.
Jakobus Klaasen was charged with attempted murder and granted bail of R20 000.
The matter was postponed to the 25th of January when he will appear alongside his two co-accused.
Bail was granted as the State said Classen was not a flight risk.
His co-accused 33-year-old Johan Nel from Bothaville in the Free State and 47-year-old Jan Stephanus van der Westhuizen from Brandfort were released on warning and only charged with assault and crimen injuria.
The alleged racist incident went viral on social media after the suspects allegedly would not allow two black children to swim in the public pool.
