Large dagga plantation destroyed in Mpumalanga


The SA Police Service said that a large dagga plantation discovered in Mpumalanga has been destroyed.

SAPS said in a statement that the operation was carried out on Wednesday following by members of various police units and also included members of the SA National Defence Force.

“They destroyed a total of 21 910 plants, with an estimated street value of R21.9m. These plants were at various stages of growth, ranging from juvenile to fully grown plants,” SAPS said.

No arrests were made.

Mpumalanga Provincial Commissioner, LieutenantGeneral Mondli Zuma, said follow up operations will be executed as and when dagga fields are identified.
