The legendary South African musician Lance James has died at the age of 81.
Lydia Winchester, his public relations officer for the past 35 years, says he passed away on Monday morning.
She told Algoa FM News that James, who made more than 70 albums went for a check-up a few weeks ago but fell in the hospital and broke his hip.
Winchester says he became very sick and his condition deteriorating.
James, affectionately called "Big Daddy" was always in high demand for appearances across South Africa.
