The death toll in a horror accident in Pinetown in Kwazulu Natal has climbed to 27.
Early on Thursday night 24 people were killed and 26 others were injured when an articulated truck collided with four fully-laden taxis and a car.
Three others died in hospital overnight.
ER 24 says paramedics were shocked when they arrived on scene and found people and debris scattered across the road.
By-standers reported seeing the truck smash into the taxis and the car, dragging the vehicles along with it and ripping them to pieces.
